The view from my room was amazing, stretching over Banff and the snowcapped mountains. The staff offered excellent service, always friendly and helpful, especially Carolina at Reception. I enjoyed the food at the Bistro. It was well-priced, with some great vegetarian options. The outdoor fire pit created a cozy atmosphere in the evenings. The cleanliness of the room needed improvement. I noticed dirty the towels and light dust on some surfaces. There were also no proper drawers or closets for unpacking. I experienced some noise from the nearby road, which might bother light sleepers, but I found the view more than made up for it.

Everything was good, modest hotel, the location was magnificent next to the main highway, the bistro. Stayed in standard room with a mountain view which was perfect for me. The food in the gourmet restaurant was fabulous, loved it.

Good location.......good food.......comfortable bed....front desk staff were very accomodating and pleasant.
Upon entering the room the first thing we see is a brown envelope that says "Housekeeping, thank you" We have stayed in many hotels and never been asked for a tip by housekeeping. We did leave a tip on the second last day but I also had to request they replace the coffee and coffee mate and a few other things were not done that one day. Not sure why.....better the day after the $10 tip we left. Disappointing.

The hotel has been beautifully renovated. The hotel has a unique archaelogical component that adds to its charm.
The hotel is not on the main strip in Banff but is a short drive away. There is 3 hours of free parking in lots within Banff which makes driving back and forth from hotel to the town easy.
